Before the session, confirm who will facilitate and in what role. It is helpful to sort out roles given the different tasks that need to happen in a workshop, including populating the Miro board with participant’s ideas, screen sharing, etc.
Usual PACC Mapping Roles
Lead Facilitator
The Lead Facilitator is the person who:
- Shares screen and shows Miro.
- Sets the stage - welcomes, sets the tone, creates the atmosphere of a safe space to share ideas.
- Invites participation.
- Reads the personas.
- Flags gaps when things are stalling.
- Highlights between personas where people have come up with.
- Seeks clarity on ideas.
- Seeks agreement on ideas where suitable.
- Is conscious of the audience:
- Is everyone engaging?
- Is the conversation moving ahead or are we stuck?
Miro Board Facilitator(s)
Miro Board Facilitators are the ones who:
- Listen to the conversation.
- Capture the essence of the key ideas on the board in idea cards.
- Map the persona tokens based on conversation.
- Ask for clarification in the conversation - either if something was missed or if there was not clear consensus.
- Reviews parts of the board with the group.
